Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang, Malaysia
Kek Lok Si Temple, or called the "Temple of Supreme Bliss," constructed back in 1891 on terraces that go into the Penang Hill's side in Penang Island, Malaysia, and is one of Southeast Asia's biggest and most beautiful temple complexes, which consist of seven floors in all; an elevator can take you up but with a small fee.
With literally millions of stunning images of Buddha as well as hundreds of exquisite meaningful murals, carvings, and sculptures in the exterior and interior of the archways, temple halls, and pagodas, make Kek Lok Si Temple not only a center for Buddha education and Chinese culture but also distinctive heritage treasures which are rooted with traditional Chinese rituals and Mahayana Buddhism combine into a consonant whole, in the architecture, and even in worshipers' daily activities.
Inside, see the Kek Lok Si Statue, or the statue of Kuan Yin, who is the Chinese Goddess of Mercy, stands 30 meters tall and has been added to the complex rather recently. The large pavilion, which was built in 2009, is situated in the higher portion of the complex. A Sky Lift can be used to gain access. Then, there's a mega complex that houses elaborate gardens as well as ponds filled with live tortoises.
Thousands of worshippers and tourists visit every year making the pilgrimage and to tour this amazing temple.
